Professional Experience Placement Driscolls Model
Question: Talk about the Professional Experience Placement for Driscolls Model. Answer: Presentation: This reflection alludes to a scene that happened during my absolute first experience of a Professional Experience Placement (PEP) in a clinical ward. For the motivations behind ideal and expert record of the occasions, I will use the stages plot in Driscolls model of reflection. Besides, it will help me in the investigation, audit and assessment of my experience to therefore settle on sound decisions and changes in future practice. According to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) set of principles and expert norms that maintain the privacy of the patients in any setting of medical caretaker tolerant collaboration, I won't notice the names of the gatherings in question (Nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au, 2016). Additionally, I will talk about two territories for development and the procedures to accomplish positive results. What? During that morning, there was a difference in shifts among the medical caretakers and I was distributed a 40-year old female patient for the routine fundamental perceptions by my guide. The patient was a casualty of theft, viciousness and assault. She had profound cut injuries and wounds that had been dressed and gauzed continuously move medical caretakers. Once more, she had supported genital wounds, and an Intravenous dribble of Ringer's lactate was set up. With the energy of executing my first obligation of a medical attendant, I stated: Hi, I am here to take your crucial signs. Promptly, she turned, confronting the divider (away from me) and with hostility, shouted at me to disregard her. With no earlier expectation of this response, I got disappointed and dropped the outline for recording her indispensable signs. In addition, my guide and a few attendants immediately ran into the straight when they heard the shout. I stopped, in stun in any event, neglecting to pick the patients outline. More terrible off, one of the medical attendants was enraged and requested me to escape the room and hold up at the attendant station. Be that as it may, the other medical attendant and my coach asked me not to freeze and gradually take full breaths. It was a sickening second, and I generally had it reflect in my psyche whenever I ventured at the doors of that preparation office. What of it? This stage was the most testing. I felt like the patient had been unreasonable to me thinking about that I had considerately welcomed her and introduced my expectation in what I thought was a good way. Then again, a sentiment of inability and unprofessionalism struck a chord. Notwithstanding, after an aggregate directing and direction from my tutor and the medical caretakers, I came to understand that I wasn't right to shield my inclination during the occasion. It wasn't right and amateurish for me to get enthusiastic and drop the patients essential signs diagram since she had been forceful in her reaction. Furthermore, I knew the customers history of being burglarized and assaulted. It means by and large overlooking her mental misery and the torment of physical wounds likely cosmetically and in different manners (Yelland and Whelan, 2011). Expertly, I should have utilized incredible relational abilities and basic reasoning. Most importantly, circumstance investigation could have helped me devise the most ideal method of moving toward the patient (Anon, 2016). I should welcome her and ask how she was feeling around then and if there were any necessities that she should have been satisfied. Furthermore, looking for consent before embraced any nursing mediation is principal since certain patients may have individual and social convictions particularly in intrusive methodology. I would have pleasantly clarified the reason for taking crucial signs and in the end suggest the conversation starter of whether she was prepared for the strategy or she felt that second was a bit much. By dropping the diagram and getting enthusiastic, I profoundly expanded the patients animosity and uneasiness, a factor that disturbs her mental shakiness. Additionally, she at last would not be gone to by any understudy nurture. In the event that I had utilized great basic reasoning and relational abilities, the patient would not hav e gotten forceful (Rape et al., 2015). Once more, she was an educative instance of issues of assault, brutality, and burglary but since of my experience, she wouldn't connect with some other nursing understudies for learning purposes. Presently What? After thinking about the case, I discovered that medical caretakers ought to have abilities that keep up the emphasis of correspondence on the patient and showcases undivided attention. Once more, they should help in apportioning data in an expert way. Another exercise was that medical attendants ought not let their own sentiments influence the helpful relationship with the patient. Later on, it is essential to exhibit polished skill in correspondence by receiving some basic aptitudes. A portion of the aptitudes are tuning in and taking a gander at the prompts. In my situation, the prompts incorporated the patients outrage and dismissing when occupied with a discussion. The signals help in slanting the cooperation towards showing restraint focused. I will likewise take part in posing facilitative inquiries to evoke more prompts with the goal that I can comprehend the center of the issue. Posing inquiries that are open like how are you loosens up the patients outrage yet rather open u p their spirits for greater commitment (Bramhall, 2014). Once more, I will apply the aptitudes that show listening like compassion, summing up, checking, making surmises that are instructed, reflection, summarizing, and affirmation. The two key zones of nursing that I can enhance this reflection are staff preparing and clinical administration. As per the report arranged for the Australian commission on security and quality in human services, poor supplier persistent correspondence is among the main sources of legal disputes and even dismalness. I would plan persistent clinical training (CMEs) meetings that emphasis on engaging staff on correspondence (Jacobs, Stegmann, and Siebeck, 2014). Through clinical administration, I would utilize successful relational abilities as a good example to other medicinal services suppliers (MacVane Phipps, 2015). More research, understanding and help from different experts would be my techniques to deal with comparable circumstances later on. Through research, I would apportion proof based mediations to be nefit the patient (Mabbott, 2011). Progressively experienced staff have the most ideal methods of understanding the patient. Hence, they may assist me with dealing with the cases expertly. Taking everything into account, the experience was totally about effective and expert correspondence in nursing. As of now, I am perhaps the best communicator in our nursing school gaining from the experience I had with that tolerant. References Anon, (2016). Answer: An) According to the contextual investigation we can see that Mrs. G experiences obvious breathing difficulty and after the tests and assessment unmistakably she has additionally got intense pneumonia because of delayed episode of influenza. Aside from that the tests have likewise uncovered that she has mental issues too. She experiences hypertension and stays upset and has as of late answered to have chest torment when enquired by the attendant. As indicated by World Health Organization definition Health is a condition of complete physical, mental and social prosperity and not simply the nonattendance of malady or illness. Thus, as per the given definition Mrs. G could be alluded as solid when she is liberated from a wide range of mental and physical disease. She should be killed of a wide range of disease which she conveys now so she can be called solid. The difficulty of physical maladies like chest agony and pneumonia, the breathing issue should be restored alongside that we shou ld ensure that her influenza doesnt return as it was the underlying driver of pneumonia in her body. Also her psychological sickness should be restored so as to change her into a solid individual. The reason for hypertension and stress should recognize through guiding and afterward should be tended to. Generally speaking one might say that she should be liberated from a wide range of ailments which incorporates both mental and physical ailment with the goal that she can be proclaimed to be in acceptable condition of wellbeing. B) Over the years there have been a great deal of research regarding the matter of disease and numerous researchers have characterized the term ailment in various manners. Subsequently, there are various definitions to ailment. For the current contextual investigation and dependent on the state of Mrs. G one might say that she fits flawlessly with a meaning of sickness (Dayer-Berenson 2014). For her situation sickness could be characterized as the condition of being unfortunate in the body or brain. She is in a state where her body and brain both are influenced by ailment. The body and brain are not working regularly because of physical and mental difficulty that she is in. It is significant for the mindful specialists and human services authorities to adequately speak with her in regards to her psychological and physical issues (Du Pr 2010). It turns out to be critical for the specialists and medical caretakers to distinguish the key issues that she is experiencing so as to have the option to address those issues effectively and assist her with getting relieved (Payton 2009). Since she fits with one of the meaning of sickness it is critical to take additional consideration of her and attempt to determine the physical issues of breathing, tending to this season's flu virus and relieving the pneumonia so a more drawn out timeframe could be contributed to address the psychological issues of hypertension and stress (Radley 2009). Thus one might say that with her current state she could be proclaimed sick as her body and brain have quit working regularly. C) Mrs. G is experiencing hypertension then again she likewise has other physical sicknesses. In spite of the fact that physical infections are anything but difficult to fix and yet on the off chance that the patient is influenced by psychological maladjustment it is regularly observed that physical sicknesses don't get restored exceptionally quick. For this situation it is very significant since Mrs. G has hypertension (Rogers Pilgrim 2014). Hypertension is implies she has hypertension and hypertension influences the heart unsafely. Drugs work delayed as the circulatory strain is high and heartbeat rate is quick since the heart siphons the blood quick. Hypertension is one of the significant reasons for strokes and cardiovascular failures, dementia, kidney issues and ophthalmic issues (Steiner 2014). Hypertension is a significant reason for vascular dementia which keeps the cerebrum from working and the individual loses psychological force and thinking limit. She has been unshakable in disregarding medicine in any case which has negatively affected her wellbeing. Mrs. G has reacted delayed to the drug and treatment as she has hypertension the medications set aside a ton of effort to disintegrate in blood and it acts late on the body. In the vast majority of the cases it has been seen that hypertension causes mind harm as the complex nerve system in our cerebrum can't stand the extreme weight of blood and they crack which prompts cerebrum harm (Waugh Grant 2014). The way of life of Mrs. G has been very unpredictable because of this issue of hypertension she has just given positive indications of level one dementia by keeping herself focused on which can be seen obviously and then again it has likewise pondered the physical improvement of her body and brain, however with her psychological sicknesses taking the secondary lounge through compelling mental treatment she has been less uninformed to drug in the later part. Despite the fact that she is old and its very regular to create eye issues however hypertension issues of her could be considered liable for the breaking down states of her ophthalmic state. There have been no indications of diabetes yet its simply a question of time that she builds up this issue too (Weiss Lonnquist 2012). By and large one might say that her state of mind is unmistakably more significant than her state of being and thus, it is very critical to successfully treat her state of mind of hypertension. On the off chance that hypertension can be diminished or treated appropriately, at that point the other physical sicknesses will be gone very soon as she will begin reacting to the meds in a split second and obvious positive change will reflect in her (Weiss Lonnquist 2012). Tariffs in the 1800 essays
Tariffs in the 1800 essays The debate over whether the institution of slavery should come to an end was not the only divisive to conflict America. Tariffs and states right to nullify acts of congress, nearly brought the country to a secession and the possibility of a civil war. These tariffs were detested by many southerners felt that they were being left out in the cold. Although the tariffs on Great Britain's goods had negative impacts they also had positive aspects throughout the United States. The tariff of 1812, which was proposed by James Madison, was one of the first taxes to be placed upon foreign goods. Originally this tariff was to help pay for internal improvements, such as roads, canals, and lighthouses. Tariffs continuously affected the southern states negatively. The south was not dependent on manufacturing as the northern states were, causing the south to become not as eager to tax European imports. These formations of tariffs began to increase the need for slaves in the south, who depended more and more on slavery agriculturally as the tariffs created additional competition for money. Slavery became such a problematic issue that the legislature created the gag rule, which was a rule created to lessen the time spent discussing or debating on the issue of slavery. Another tariff was placed on Great Britains goods in 1828. Jackson's vice-president, John C. Calhoun, called the 1828 tariff a Tariff of Abominations, a disgusting and loathsome tariff. As an agricultural region dependant on cotton, the south had to compete in the world market. Yet the high tariffs reduced exports to the U.S., and Britain began to buy less cotton. The south thought that the North was getting rich at the expense of the South. The South became fed up with this unfair treatment and threatened to secede from the Union. This threat angered President Jackson, who had proposed the Force Bill. This w ...

The Intern Bible Dos and Donts in the Workplace
The Intern Bible Dos and Donts in the Workplace You may be reading this moments before your first day as an intern and are nervously wondering, ââ¬Å"What exactly is proper intern etiquette?â⬠First off, congrats on the internship! You must have done something right to land the position. Now, just try not to mess it up. Just kidding. Actually, itââ¬â¢s important to remember that employers create internship programs as an opportunity for learning. Along the way, mistakes are going to be made and thatââ¬â¢s not a bad thing ââ¬â as long as you learn from them. In an effort to lessen your stress and increase your chance for success, hereââ¬â¢s some doââ¬â¢s and donââ¬â¢ts to help you navigate the murky waters of interning.Do seek feedbackIt is crucial for an intern to seek feedback from their supervisor. It demonstrates that you are coachable. Seeking feedback takes all of the guesswork out of how so you can ââ¬Å"wowâ⬠your boss. Feedback allows you to improve and learn how you can add value. As an inte rn, seeking feedback will communicate to your boss that you are highly self-aware and motivated to improve.Do clarify expectationsClarifying expectations is crucial as an intern. Telling the hiring team exactly what you want out of the internship is going to ensure that you are not coming to a job every day that you hate. No boss intentionally makes an internââ¬â¢s job miserable. The majority of the time an unfulfilling internship is a result of individuals not clarifying exactly what they want out of the job. If you want to get better at presentations, tell your boss that. They want to teach you about what you want to learn and more.Donââ¬â¢t gossipNot only is gossiping at work unprofessional, but it also creates a toxic environment.à Gossiping damages trust and will have your coworkers hesitant to share things with you. As an intern, you may hear your manager gossiping about others in the office, but that does not warrant you to join in. Avoid joining in on gossip, and en sure you are doing everything in your power to avoid being the target of gossip. Dressing appropriate, not oversharing, and being mindful of what you post on social media are all effective ways to avoid being the topic of workplace gossip.Donââ¬â¢t be dependentNo supervisor wants to apprehensively hand their intern a pile of work, worrying if it will actually get done or not. In the workplace today, task-oriented jobs are seizing to exist ââ¬â and so are bosses who micromanage. Be confident in your abilities to complete a task, large or small. Use this time as an intern to be independent.Donââ¬â¢t neglect networkingOffering to take your other fellow interns to lunch during the week is a nice gesture, but not the key to getting yourself a full-time offer once your internship is up. Itââ¬â¢s crucial, as an intern, to network with the other full-time employees at the office. This could be your direct boss or other members of the full-time team. However, this does not mean to just have surface level relationships with a variety of people. The most useful networks are those with strong ties. The more someone knows you and believes in you, the moreà likely they will be to vouch for you, think of you first when an opportunity opens, and be a reference to add to your resume.à About the Author:Margaret Foley is a senior at Texas Christian University, where she is majoring in Communications Studies and minoring in English and Graphic Design. She is currently interning at Varghese Summersett, a criminal defense law firm in Fort Worth, Texas.

Articaine and Lidocaine for Maxillary Infiltration Anesthesia Article
Articaine and Lidocaine for Maxillary Infiltration Anesthesia - Article Example The results calculated by the authors do not show any statistically noteworthy differences for commencement and duration of anesthesia between the articaine and Lidocaine solutions. It is manifested that, Lidocaine has been extensively used to produce local anesthesia. The authors agree that Articaine is an amide-type local anesthetic and is in use for the past 37 years also, they agree that Articaine is equivalent to, but not superior to, prilocaine for infiltration anesthesia. The authors state that results of comparative studies with lidocaine have been contradictory, because of the variation of epinephrine in the anesthetic agent. Lidocaine with epinephrine is the drug of choice in clinical practice in Finland but for patients with cardiovascular disorders, articaine with its lower epinephrine content is usually chosen with the intention of evading the systemic side effects of epinephrine. The authors have specified the purpose of the study to get a comparative account for the commencement of anesthesia and the duration of action of the commonly used solutions of 4% articaine with 1:200,000 epinephrine and 2% lidocaine with 1:80,000 epinephrine. The authors have selected twenty healthy volunteers (12 female, 8 male) with a mean age of 23.8 yr. The subjects were dental students with no history of allergic reaction to amide-type anesthetic agents and were not on regular medications and had intact lateral incisors. The authors got the protocol for the study, approved by the Ethics Committee of the University of Turku and Turku University Central Hospital. The test solutions were- 4% articaine with 1:200,000 epinephrine (Ultracainà ® DS, Hoechst AG, Frankfurt, Germany) and 2% lidocaine with 1:80,000 epinephrine (Xylocaine à ®-Adrenaline, Astra, S6dertalje, Sweden). Management theory and practice have been touted as the most important as one of the important strategies however the scientific management and theories and practice differs a lot. In that the scientific theories that we learned from Fall to what really is on the ground brings out its main difference. Whether itââ¬â¢s because of its objectivity, cost or even expertise if fails in achieving its core objective. The focus of this study will be the critical issues about the assumptions in business and also why a lot of careful consideration has to be done and why management theory and practice is not after all the most effective management tool. The practice employed might be realistic it is not enough to administer the same theories over and over. It is easy to describe though some theories have been very important to the world of business they have brought about negative examples to the business industry and it is therefore important to analyze what does not work for the firm and management. The assumption of scientific theories help in managing business not forgetting that they are expensive to incur and set up for any firm and sometimes they are not tailor made for the organization. The critics of this ponder just because a feature like a decentralization worked in company X that is a multinational does not make it a must to work in company Y. Thus, it will not be realistic to assign one organization on the mere fact it worked in another (Schweiger(1991). Though the scientific management theory focused more on employee it failed to realize that sometimes the challenges may not be an employee but the resources and expertise accorded to him/her. It also focused on the human behavior only in the workplace and not everywhere the employee would visit (Schein, E.H. (1980). The other theory is the, general administrative theory which

Americas Culture Essays -- Cultural Society Multiculturalism Essays
Americaââ¬â¢s Culture America is cultural diversity. It is not home to one race or one culture. The building of American history was done through Irish, Black, Japanese, Korean, and many other cultures combined. The people of these various backgrounds came together for a common cause. To attempt create the society that they believed was better than there original originââ¬â¢s way of life. Many of these founders undertook great hardships and some even death to create something that some people many times overlook or take for granted. If you look at our American society as a whole, you will notice that many Americans share certain beliefs and even customs in common. From the objects in our houses to the food we eat and the clothing they wear. Being American has become more than just a place of birth on a passport. America is a way of life. It is a culture all of its own. Some may argue that America is simply the place where you can live freely and safely, but not a true culture or origin because some bel ieve that oneââ¬â¢s true culture is the culture of the society that grandparents of years past had before migrating to the United States. But, I see America as more than just that. I am proud of my familyââ¬â¢s heritage and what traditions we do continue, but I believe that my family has become greatly assimilated to the "Mainstream Culture" of America. I define "Mainstream Culture" as the "American way of life," The standards and traditions that society has developed on how Americans should live. I do not see this as a negative happening. It is an inevitable idea that happens to every immigrant family that has been newly introduced to the United States. Immigrants do not forget their ethic culture, they simply adapt. Skills such as computer knowledge, bookkeeping, customer service, human relations, reading and writing, verbal communication, and active listening are an essential part of being a dental assistant. APRO students already obtain these skills. This report shows how be coming a dental assistant is a great career choice for APRO students. Dental assistants primarily work in dental offices; however, there are jobs available in health care units and hospitals as well. The research that was conducted for this report consists of both primary and secondary sources. The primary research sources include an interview of a local dental assistant, as well as the researcherââ¬â¢s own experience and knowledge.Secondary sources of research include Google searches, ALIS website, STATS Canada, and APRO text books. The three main aspects covered in this report are as follows: 1) Occupational Inventory a. Work environment b. Perks c. Market trends 2) Per sonality Fit d. Stress level/mental strains e. Personality traits recommended/required 3) Future Potential f. Continuing education requirements g. Advancement opportunities Potential Career Choice: Dental Assistant Introduction Weekends off, daytime hours, decent wages, free dental care, medical benefits, and yearly bonuses! These, in many cases, are the perks that career seekers are looking for.Look no further. These, among others, are the perks the career of dental assistant has to offer. One might think that dental assisting has nothing to do with the tasks or skills learnt in the Administrative Office Professional program (APRO); however, there are many duties involved in dental assisting that relate directly to APRO knowledge. Skills such as computer knowledge, bookkeeping, customer service, human relations, reading and writing, verbal communication, and active listening are essential in a dental assisting career. As an APRO student, one obtains those skills. However, an APRO st udent would need to further their education. A dental assistant training program is needed to pursue a career in dental assisting. This training program would typically only be an additional eight to ten months over and above the APRO program. The APRO program is a good foundation as it gives students many of the basic skills needed to be successful in any program or career area. The dental assistant program differs by educational institution, but for the most part, prerequisites include a 30-level of English (which all APRO students already have), biology, and chemistry. Dental assisting is a very diverse career. One never knows what sort of situation or emergency may arise. For example, an appointment may be as simple as a routine check-up or a filling, and may be as complicated as a tooth breaking off at the gum line during an extraction which can lead to dental surgery. Duties of dental assistants are as diverse as the job itself. Duties will change from office to office, and day to day, but will include tasks such as: * Prepare patient, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentist during dental procedures * Take and prepare dental diagnostic x-rays Record treatment information in patient records * Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient * Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist * Assist dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies * Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs * Apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth * Schedule appointments, prepare bills, and receive payment for dental services, complete insurance forms, and maintain records using computer or manually Because dental assisting does entail working in someoneââ¬â¢s mouth, it may not be appealing to everyone. However, dental assistants are a vital part of the heath care profession. Most people have, at some point in time, experienced the excruciating pai n of a tooth ache. Without dentists and dental assistants, one would have to suffer through the pain, or extract the tooth oneââ¬â¢s self. One might choose dental assisting as a career if one enjoys working in an office environment, prefer daytime hours, and the medical field is of interest to them. There are many perks associated with being a dental assistant such as wages and bonuses.Dentistry is a rapidly growing field, therefore leaving many new jobs available both now and in the future. One who enjoys helping others, and wants to make a difference in the lives of many, would be satisfied in the career of dental assisting. Dental assisting is a relatively low stress-level job. Because life-long learning is a required part of being a dental assistant, one must have a love of education and be committed to life-long learning. This report will look at the occupational inventory of dental assisting, including work environment, job perks, and market trends. It will also look at the personality fit for one interested in seeking a career in this area. The personality fit will include such information as the stress level of the job, personality traits required/recommended, and potential interests and passions one might have. Finally, this report will look at the future potential of this career choice for APRO students. The future potential will share information such as continuing education requirements and advancement opportunities. The facts and findings in this report are based on both primary and secondary sources. The primary sources include an interview with a dental assistant. I chose to interview a local dental assistant who works at Dr. Loââ¬â¢s office here in Brooks, Alberta. The researcher will also be using her own experience and knowledge as primary research. The secondary research consists of Google searches, ALIS website, STATS Canada, and APRO textbooks. Facts and Findings Occupational Inventory Occupational inventory is an especially important aspect of a career because it looks at things such as work environment, career perks, and market trends. These specifics can help one decide if a certain career, in this case dental assisting, is right for them. Work environment. Dental assistants have a variety of different working environments to choose from. Dental assistants work as part of a dental health care team. Their duties can vary and can include working as chair-side assistants, intra-oral assistants, administrative assistants, community health assistants, sterilization assistants, research assistants, or treatment coordinators. Dental assistants can also work in dental sales and insurance or dental education. However, dental offices are the primary employer of dental assistants, with 97% of dental assistants working in dental offices. Typical hours of dental offices are Monday to Friday, 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. Some offices, however, are open during the evenings and weekends to accommodate a larger portion of the population. As shown in Figure 1, according to STATS Canada 2011, 99% of dental assistants are women. In larger offices, one can expect to work alongside many women. In smaller offices, on the other hand, one can expect to work closely with the dentist and a few other staff. Figure 1 Gender of Dental AssistantsPerks. There are several perks in the career of dental assistant. These perks may include good wages, good hours, free dental care for oneââ¬â¢s family, yearly or monthly bonuses, and paid continuing education. Therefore, the average wage of dental assistants in Alberta is around $26. 40 an hour. As stated previously, most dental office hours are Monday to Friday, with daytime hours. In many cases, dental offices provide their staff with free dental care for both the employee and the employeeââ¬â¢s family. Many offices offer incentives in the form of either monthly or yearly bonuses. If the office is busy and makes over a certain amount of money in a month or year, a percentage of the excess money will be awarded to staff according to seniority and hours worked. Because dental assistants are required to keep up-to-date with their education and skills, most dental offices pay for continuing education. Therefore, the personality fit of a given career, specifically dental assisting, is crucial.Personality fit for a career includes the stress level and mental strains, personality traits recommended, and personal interests and passions. Stress level/mental strains. Dental assistants can come across some stressful situations. Sometimes, a procedure does not go as planned, leaving it up to the dentist and dental assistan t to determine what to do next to ensure the safety and well-being of the patient. Although this may not be a regular occurrence, a dental assistant must have critical thinking ability and work well under pressure. When an appointment runs over time, this often leaves the next scheduled patient waiting longer than anticipated for his/her turn. This can sometimes lead to a stressful situation if the patient who is waiting does not understand the situation. Overall, most dental assistants have a low- to moderate-level of stress in their everyday work. Personality traits recommended/required. Dental assistants are required to work closely with their patients and co-workers. In order to communicate well with both patients and co-workers, one should be kind, patient, outgoing, an active listener, and organized. The ability to stay calm while under pressure and during emergencies is essential. Because dental assistants work side by side with dentists, one must be a team player and pay close attention to detail. It is the dental assistantââ¬â¢s job to know what the dentist needs next. Personal interests and passions. One who has a passion for helping others and for making a real difference in peopleââ¬â¢s lives may enjoy being a dental assistant. One should also have a general interest in the medical field. Dental assistants require continuing education; therefore, life-long learners would be satisfied in this career. Ancient Maya Civilization Classic Era
The Maya culture began sometime around 1800 B.C. and in a sense, it has not ended: there are thousands of men and women in the Maya region still practicing traditional religion, speaking pre-colonial languages, and following ancient customs. Still, the Ancient Maya civilization reached its peak during the so-called ââ¬Å"Classic Eraâ⬠from around 300-900 A.D. It was during this time that the Maya civilization achieved its greatest achievements in art, culture, power, and influence. The Maya Civilization The Maya civilization thrived in the steamy jungles of present-day southern Mexico, the Yucatà ¡n Peninsula, Guatemala, Belize, and parts of Honduras. The Maya were never an Empire like the Aztecs in central Mexico or the Inca in the Andes: they were never unified politically. Rather, they were a series of city-states independent from one another politically but linked by cultural similarities such as language, religion, and trade. Some of the city-states became very large and powerful and were able to conquer vassal states and control them politically and militarily but none was ever strong enough to unite the Maya into a single Empire. Beginning in 700 A.D. or so, the great Maya cities fell into decline and by 900 A.D. most of the important ones had been abandoned and fell into ruin. Before the Classic Era There have been people in the Maya region for ages, but cultural characteristics that historians associate with the Maya began appearing in the area around 1800 B.C. By 1000 B.C. the Maya had occupied all of the lowlands currently associated with their culture and by 300 B.C. most of the great Maya cities had been founded. During the late Preclassic Period (300 B.C. ââ¬â 300 A.D.) the Maya began building magnificent temples and records of the first Maya Kings began to appear. The Maya were well on their way to cultural greatness. Classic Era Maya Society As the Classic era dawned, Maya society was clearly defined. There was a king, royal family, and a ruling class. The Maya kings were powerful warlords who were in charge of warfare and who were considered to be descended from the gods. Maya priests interpreted the movements of the gods, as represented by the sun, moon, stars, and planets, telling the people when to plant and do other daily tasks. There was a middle class of sorts, artisans, and traders who enjoyed special privilege without being nobility themselves. The vast majority of Maya worked in basic agriculture, growing the corn, beans, and squash that still make up the staple diet in that part of the world. Maya Science and Math The Classic Era Maya were talented astronomers and mathematicians. They understood the concept of zero, but did not work with fractions. The astronomers could predict and calculate the movements of the planets and other celestial bodies: much of the information in the four surviving Maya codices (books) concerns these movements, accurately predicting eclipses and other celestial events. The Maya were literate and had their own spoken and written language. They wrote books on specially prepared fig tree bark and carved historical information into stone on their temples and palaces. The Maya used two overlapping calendars which were quite accurate. Maya Art and Architecture Historians mark 300 A.D. as the starting point for the Maya Classic era because it was around that time that stelae began to appear (the first one dates from 292 A.D.). A stela is a stylized stone statue of an important king or ruler. Stelae include not only a likeness of the ruler but a written record of his accomplishments in the formed of carved stone glyphs. Stelae are common at the larger Maya cities that thrived during this time. The Maya built multi-storied temples, pyramids, and palaces: many of the temples are aligned with the sun and stars and important ceremonies would take place at those times. Art thrived as well: finely carved pieces of jade, large painted murals, detailed stonecarvings, and painted ceramics and pottery from this time all survive. Warfare and Trade The Classic era saw an increase in contact between the rival Maya city-states - some of it good, some of it bad. The Maya had extensive trade networks and traded for prestige items such as obsidian, gold, jade, feathers and more. They also traded for food, salt and mundane items like tools and pottery. The Maya also fought bitterly with one another. Rival city-states would skirmish frequently. During these raids, prisoners would be taken to be used as slaves or sacrificed to the gods. Occasionally, all-out war would break out between neighboring city-states, such as the rivalry between Calakmul and Tikal in the fifth and sixth centuries A.D. After the Classic Era Between 700 and 900 A.D., most of the major Maya cities were abandoned and left to ruin. Why the Maya civilization collapsed is still a mystery although there is no shortage of theories. After 900 A.D., the Maya still existed: certain Maya cities in the Yucatà ¡n, such as Chichen Itza and Mayapan, thrived during the Postclassic era. The descendants of the Maya still used the writing system, the calendar and other vestiges of the peak of Maya culture: the four surviving Maya codices are thought to have all been created during the postclassic era. The different cultures in the region were rebuilding when the Spanish arrived in the early 1500s, but the combination of the bloody conquest and European diseases pretty much ended the Maya renaissance. Classical Liberalism And Natural Rights - 2244 Words
Classical republicanism and natural rights philosophy had a profound impact on the way the Founders viewed government. Though the two are inherently different, the Founders used aspects from both to construct a well-rounded view of government. Many of the aspects they felt were important were ideals that were not present in the monarchy in Great Britain. Classical republicanism focused strongly on promoting the common good of the people. Natural rights philosophers, such as John Locke, kept the idea of ensuring and protecting individual rights as a focal point. The Founders took elements from classical republicanism such as small, uniform communities, citizenship and civic virtue, and moral education. In conjunction with these aspects, the Founders also were influenced by aspects of natural philosophy, including individual rights, popular sovereignty/government by consent, limited government, and human equality. The Founders drew upon the aspects from both classical republicanism and natural rights philosophy to create a government that would benefit the people and uphold natural rights while not being overbearing. Classical Republicanism placed the needs of the people of the community above individual liberty and self-determination. Letting Nature Speak Free Essays
Letting Nature Speak If you were walking in the woods and suddenly a tree started speaking to you, most likely you would either faint or start running the opposite direction. It would be pretty scary, to say the least. But nature does speak to everyone in a sense; we are just so busy with life that we do not take the time to listen. We will write a custom essay sample on Letting Nature Speak or any similar topic only for you Order Now There is so much in nature that we can learn from and apply to our lives, but so often we only look at it for its face value and do not see the deeper benefits. Speaking of nature, as I stand outside on the back porch, the sun is shining and the birds are singing, the smell of freshly cut grass fills the air and the mild breeze feels so refreshing on my skin. In the background I can hear the faint sound of traffic on the highway, cars busily heading to their destinations. It has been breezy for a couple of days now, but the sun is shining and the clouds are moving. As the day progresses, the wind speed increases and the temperature steadily decreases making a visit to the porch a little less comfortable than it was this morning. The humidity level has steadily increased as well, making my clothing sticky and somewhat annoying, also causing my paper to become limp and not as easily manageable. The clouds seemed to be huddling together as if forming a mob, moving in slowing overhead creating a blanket between the sun and me. My pleasant sunshine has been taken away from me now and I am left with a gray blanket of cloud cover to observe, I am picking out different shapes and possible figures within them. As the clouds continue moving by, more ominous clouds replace their predecessors, making the world around me darker and darker. The temperature is cool and the breeze is stronger than it was earlier. I hear thunder rumbling in the distance, a normal precursor to a storm. The thunder seems like a would be stalker approaching from the darkness, only his footsteps are so loud it shakes the earth and rattles the windows, demanding its presence be known. Lightning flickers like a streetlamp attempting to turn on, but continually failing. One drop of rain lands on my cheek, another on my arm. As the rain increases in quantity, I head inside and continue watching from my window. Slowly the rain changes from a lawn sprinkler type shower to more like someone turning on a high-pressure water hose as if they were trying to douse a fire. I am now confined to my home, as if there is an army outside keeping me contained unless I want to endure their unrelenting siege. The troubles in life are much like a storm; there are always signs of it brewing but so often we are caught up in the beauty of the moment that we do not see the thunderheads rolling in behind us until it is too late. We are then caught off guard without an umbrella in the pouring rain. The rain soaking our clothes and in turn our body, is like the stress that comes with trouble forcing us to try and find shelter or something to protect us. When caught in a storm, we rarely see the beauty of it because we are focused on the damage it is causing. After a storm the grass is greener, the air smells so fresh, the sidewalks are washed clean, and there is a sense of calm and reassurance that we have made it through. The sun raises its head and always gives us a rainbow after the storm. There is a lot more to the sun then rainbows and illuminating the world as Ralph Emerson states in ââ¬Å"Nature,â⬠ââ¬Å"Most persons do not see the sun. At least they have a very superficial seeing. The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the heart of the childâ⬠(563). This is so true; often nature is only seen for its face value. Sunrise is a particularly beautiful, natural event to experience, and all to often we do not take the time to enjoy the wonderful events that unfold during a sunrise. As the sun is approaching the horizon, I hear birds singing and nocturnal animals scurrying back to their dens to sleep the day away. The birds seem to be calling to one another as if they are old men sitting at the local cafe, drinking coffee and discussing the dayââ¬â¢s to-do list. The sky is no longer black but a deep ocean blue, like someone has turned on a light in another room, and the light is reflecting throughout the house. I hear the leaves rustle in the wind, and the trees sway as if they are stretching after a deep sleep. Slowly, things in the distance become recognizable and I can distinguish more shapes and figures. The sky becomes brighter and brighter, changing from a deep blue to a brighter shade as the sun moves closer to the horizon. Faster and faster light is filling the sky and illuminating the world around me. It is almost like opening my eyes when I awaken and taking in all the colors and objects around me. Suddenly the sun shows its bright and shining face, peeking over the horizon as if to say good morning to me. It rises slowly, becoming more and more visible, until its entirety is now shining down on me, demanding to be seen, demanding my attention. I feel the warmth on my skin, like a blanket pulled up over me. The sunrise is so beautiful but when the sun comes up all the way it doesnââ¬â¢t always seem as wonderful, especially if there is a lot of it. This last summer we experienced an enormous amount of the sun and the heat that comes with it and the effects seemed all negative. It caused droughts, crops to wilt, electric bills were high in the effort for the air conditioning to keep up with the heat and the list could go on. But there were some benefits to the high heat and drought. I was able to spend plenty of time inside my home this summer and I was able to downsize a lot of my belongings. My home stayed very clean all summer long because I did not want to be out in the heat and I took advantage of the time inside. I was able to catch up on my movie watching and shows that I was missing out on. I have to admit, I did miss taking my children to the park, but I was able to spend quality time with them when we were cooped up inside. Another advantage to the drought and high heat is the crime rate was lower this summer; criminals do not like the heat just like everyone else. But what is a thunderstorm or a drought in comparison to something as devastating and tragic as a natural disaster that kills thousands and leaves even more without a home. Hurricane Katrina ripped through New Orleans leaving in its wake, destruction and death. Causing many to wonder how could anything good come out of such devastation. At first there did not seem to be anything positive. Then as the clouds lifted and the water receded, people started to pull together and found in the midst of tragedy, a sense of community. Barely two months after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleansââ¬â¢ art community pulled together and reopened the doors of the Ogden Museum with an incredible turn out on opening night (Krantz). Before Katrina, the turnout stayed about 100, but over 600 citizens crammed the affair, an enormous result (Krantz). Nature has its own lessons, whether teaching us to be prepared or to look deeper and find the treasure beneath the rubble. Wearing its many different faces, nature will always put us to the test. Whether enjoying the beauty of a sunrise or the thrill of a thunderstorm rolling in, there is always something to walk away with; the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sensivite Items free essay sample
An obligation imposed by law, lawful order, or regulation of an officer or other person of authority for keeping accurate record of property, documents, or funds is the best answer I can think of. Now the person having this obligation may or may not have actual possession of an item they are accountable for, sensitive item. Accountability is concerned primarily with records, while responsibility is concerned primarily with custody, care, and safekeeping. What does accountability mean to the Army?Accountability is a very important part of an enlisted soldierââ¬â¢s job. An enlisted soldier is responsible for a lot of items issued to him/her whether itââ¬â¢s a weapon, night vision goggles, clothing that belongs to CIF, a vehicle, or from a leaderââ¬â¢s aspect another person. Another person is the most sensitive item to be responsible for. That is why every work day leaders start the day with an accountability check; because they are responsible for their soldier(s). Sensitive items, or SI, can also be identifies as anything that is mission essential, or classified material. These items can include protective gear, maps, or a simple piece of paper with a patrol route or guard schedule. The importance of securing sensitive items comes down to maintaining several things such as operation security, mission success, readiness, and over all else, soldierââ¬â¢s well-being. The habits of exercising security and accountability of a soldierââ¬â¢s item allow the soldier and their team to operate to the highest standards, and keep the enemy form gaining any advantage and hindering our mission, or placing soldiers in danger. For example in Afghanistan we have the upper hand at night because of our night vision capabilities. It is for that reason that we canââ¬â¢t leave night vision goggles unsecured because they would allow the enemy to stand toe to toe with us and fight at night. Each person is responsible for exercising reasonable and effective actions to properly care, store, safeguard and use any and all items presented to them whether it be issued or acquired through personal expense. Taking the time to either store items in a secure location such as a locker or independent room that is secured and solely accessed by the owner of the stored items.Placing care of items to trusted members of your unit is also considered safeguarding items of value but trust should not always be put into everyone within a unit for storage. History shows us that there are always snakes around to bring us down. Not all incidents involving loss of sensitive items involve theft however. Sometimes people not maintaining their equipment or not utilizing proper storage procedures are the cause of the loss of sensitive items. Theft due to improper accountability of sensitive items is also a cause of loss of equipment. In some cases a wrongful accountability of equipment can cause it to fall into the wrong hands. Accountability and properly securing of sensitive items allow even the smallest items at a personal level aid in support of a missionââ¬â¢s success. Allowing any amount of sensitive items to be missing can be degrading to mission success and small amounts of information or equipment can be pieced together to form a much larger picture. This decreases the ability and function a particular units mission capabilities in the form of an adversary knowing information that compromises a missions directive or capabilities.Furthermore unsecured sensitive items lead to problems starting at a personal performance level. Although people are trained to adapt and overcome situations that may leave them in the dark without proper equipment, that type of situation should not be due to a personââ¬â¢s inadequate accountability or improper storage of sensitive items. Maintaining proper accountability a nd storage habits of sensitive items allows all personnel to maintain operational security on a personal level. In doing so it also allows high cost or valued items to not be purchased by enemy personnel out of pocket.Operational security is a process that denies critical information to an adversary. If one were to obtain the information presented it could be used against friendly forces. Utilizing all assets to maintain and secure sensitive items and classified information promote proper operational security and soldier readiness. Not securing items of sensitive nature acquire the risk of loss by being intercepted by unauthorized persons. All personnel should maintain accountability of all sensitive material to allow full utilization by themselves and anyone involved with the mission and still maintains operational security.Although sensitive items of restricted nature may not disclose information of high value, items and information obtained from being unsecured can cause adverse effects impacting mission success to include compromised routes, vehicle information or sensitive items used for personal protection. Any and all information obtained by any means can be used to put together larger picture of a units operations. Leaving the units operational security compromised. Which could lead to many unfortunate things in a combat environment such as an attack during guard shift change, or an ambush on a predetermined route. To lose a sensitive item can be detrimental to the readiness of your unit in times of war or training. The consequences of losing sensitive items vary from item to item according to its value and importance. In times of war losing a sensitive item such as a loaded radio or an SKL you have just given your enemy the ability to intercept all secure radio transmissions between any two operators in your area if the enemy knows your location or plans then you have just put all the troops in your area on your frequency, in danger of a surprise attack.Could you live with the knowledge that you are responsible for the death of your team, squad, platoon, unit, or your own battle budd y or best friend? To lose a sensitive item can also be a violation of the army values. It violates the values of Duty and Integrity. It violates Duty because without the proper equipment you cannot perform your duties, and you have failed the task of being prepared. You also let down your platoon and/or squad by not knowing where your items are. It violates the Integrity of yourself by letting your platoon down. Your platoon counts on you to make sure you know where all your items are.Imagine you are in a situation and you need your night vision goggles, but you cannot account for them. The enemy is approaching rapidly and the sun set many hours ago. You are on guard at your District Center for your squad while they sleep and your night vision is not so good. You have been placed far from your other squad members and have to relay information to the Sergeant of the Guard, SOG. During your guard shift you hear shots ring out through the quiet night sky from across the Wadi somewhere in the vast mountains. You cannot determine where the shots came from. Your battle buddy who was just sleeping is now screaming in pain.He dies. Now you must explain to the commanding officer how you misplaced your night vision goggles that are a sensitive item, and you must write a letter to the relatives of the soldier whose life was taken because of your inadequacy to maintain accountability of your sensitive items. Now had you not lost your sensitive items your battle buddy would still be alive laughing with you about the stupid things you did as a private in the good old days. In battle night vision goggles are important because you need to be able to see everything from the flash of the muzzle to the movement of your own battle buddies. You should always keep account of your sensitive items because you never know when you are going to need them. You never know when youââ¬â¢re going to need your night vision goggles to see the enemies shooting at your position. You should always keep up with your weapons because the enemy could get a hold of the weapon. How would you like to know that you or your battle buddy died because you were shot by your own weapon? In essence, I will never lose account of my sensitive items again even if it means sleeping with my MK19, SAW, 9mm, and NVGââ¬â¢s.It doesnââ¬â¢t matter because I have to treat those weapons like they were my family. I have to treat them with respect and in return they may someday save my life. Sensitive items are important because some day they may save your life in the field or in a garrison environment. Some valuable items are the simplest of things that you never realize you had. Your identification tags, or your identification card. Sometimes it may even be the password to your AKO account. You never really know what can be considered a sensitive item till your system has been compromised and your mission is a failure.A failed mission is not what you want to be responsible for. Especially if itââ¬â¢s for not keeping account of your items. You should not expect your team leader to make sure your sensitive are accounted for like they are supposed to. If you leave your weapon in an insecure area make sure you leave a capable guard with it so that no one can come by and retrieve it and you lose accountability for it. Losing accountability of your ID, Debit Card, and or Credit Cards could lead to Identity Theft. Identity theft could hurt because the person is able to take credit out under your name. They basically are you and you may not even realize it until it is too late. Once you realize it your credit is shot, you cannot buy a house or a car. If you maintain accountability of any of these items you have a better chance of avoiding this problem. Losing accountability of your military items will also cost you money. Carelessness is inexcusable. If some of these items were to fall into the wrong hands they could be used against you or other people for harmful means. For instance if the enemy got their hands on your Identification they could modify it to get onto a post and attack you and your buddies.Losing your sensitive items can result in an Article 15, corrective training, or negative counseling statement. Depending on what you lost will depend upon your punishment. Also your environment will dictate what will happen to you. If you are in a wartime environment then the punishment will be more severe, but if you are in a peacetime environment the punishment will be less severe depending on the item that has been lost. Say you miss placed your wet weather gear. Not so important you think, but now the enemy has it.The enemy can run all kinds of tests on your wet weather gear to see what kind or nuclear, biological, radiological, or chemical attack is the strongest to penetrate what little protection your wet weather gear my provide. They may test to see at what temperature the fabric start to melt or at what temperature the fabric will freeze. If you take the small items for granted, what are you going to do with the bigger more important items? Will you leave them around all willy- nilly for the enemy to just scoop up and find our weak points? Are you going to take care of them like they were your every own?In conclusion, sensitive items are th e most important aspect of the military way of life. To lose something of great importance is to result in a grand punishment. Your team depends on you to keep all your equipment within armââ¬â¢s length and in working order. Some days you may not want to but always PMCS your items from radios, to weapons, right down to personal gear. You never know what will someday save your life or the life of your battle buddy. The Army is easy if you just do what youââ¬â¢re told, show up on time, and hold onto the things youââ¬â¢re accountable for. Posted by the Bearjew!

Rich couples have lower divorce rates
Abstract Divorce is the termination of relationships between married couples. Divorce could be decided through a court litigation or mediation. Several factors have been shown to lead to increased rates of divorce in the society. This paper introduces the divorce topic by discussing the types, causes, and impacts of divorce. It presents three models for assessing whether the independent variables lead to lower rates of divorce among rich couples.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Rich couples have lower divorce rates specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The paper discusses the anticipated data and how it would be collected and quantified for statistical analysis. Finally, the paper discusses the significance of the anticipated findings and offers a conclusion based on the research question. Introduction Divorce refers to the termination of a union between the married couple. It involves ending all legal marita l obligations. In many countries, divorce cases are sanctioned by courts through legal processes. However, the Philippines and the Vatican City are the only countries that do not allow divorce. Divorce has been proven to be a stressful event that has influence on finances, lifestyles, and schedules of both people. The proposed study aims to answer the following research question: Do financial stability, faithfulness, and sexual satisfaction contribute to lower divorce rates among rich couples? Divorce cases among young and old married couples have been on the increase around the world in the recent decades. Several factors have been cited to cause the increase in divorce rates. It would be essential to understand the various aspects of divorce cases among couples so that measures could be implemented to help save marriages in the future. Literature review There are many types of divorce across the world as stipulated by national laws. Contested divorce cases are taken to courts so t hat a judge can decide on the disputed issues. A divorce case is taken to court if a couple is not able to agree on some issues like child uptake and property sharing. Such cases take long periods of time to be concluded by judges, and the couple has to pay for legal representation in courts.Advertising Looking for research paper on social sciences? An appeal could be rejected or upheld based on the legal evidence produced in court. At-fault divorce requires one partner to allege that his or her partner has committed an act that is not acceptable in marriage. The acts committed by the partner could be unfaithfulness, abandonment and/or cruelty. No-fault divorce does not require a partner to prove that his or her partner has committed one of such acts. Spouses could decide to part ways because they felt that their union could not work any longer. Still, a judge can consider factors like past violence and marital irresponsibility issues when deciding on division of property and childrenââ¬â¢s upkeep. A summary divorce requires spouses to fulfil some legal requirements before they can be allowed to end their union. The legal requirements can be short marriages as defined by the law, minimal real property, and absence of children, among others. Uncontested divorce is the termination of marriage whereby both spouses agree on childrenââ¬â¢s upkeep, division of property and support issues without the use of mediators or lawyers. A collaborative divorce is a termination of marriage whereby spouses are helped to reach a resolution with the assistance of attorneys. A mediated divorce is a termination of marriage which involves the use of mediators to facilitate sharing of marital property and childrenââ¬â¢s upkeep. A mediated divorce is cheaper than a divorce which is taken to a court for litigatio n. Mediators can be financial analysts and counsellors who work to help a couple to understand and accept divorce issues. Polygamous marriages have been shown to have more cases of divorce than monogamous marriages (Brinig Nock, 2009; Kitson Holmes, 1992). Divorce in a polygamous marriage can be facilitated by financial constraints, childlessness, and sexual dissatisfaction. Unfaithfulness among spouses is a major cause of divorce in marriages. Unfaithfulness cases have been on the increase across the world due to many socio-economic factors (Lefkowitz Fant, 2005).Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Rich couples have lower divorce rates specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Research shows that divorce can result in less conflict at home, which is a positive side. However, divorce causes financial instability if one partner loses financial support. Parental skills have been shown to minimize following divorce . However, the skills increase about 2 years after the divorce. Children are the main losers in the event that their parents divorce. If parents divorce, their children tend to have unhappy, dissatisfied, and depressed time. Such children lack parental love which is essential in the upbringing of socially healthy personalities. Children whose parents separate have been shown to have lower academic performance than children whose parents have not divorced. This could be attributed to the guidance that the children get from their parents in intact families (Smart, Neale Wade, 2001). Divorce among the elderly has been on the increase due to the improvement in longevity and economics. For example, many women are becoming financially independent. As a result, more financially able women are divorcing their husbands (Amato, 2010; Wickelgren, 2009). Methods Model 1: It would hypothesize that there is no relationship between lower rates of divorce and faithfulness among rich couples. The m odel would also hypothesize that faithfulness is not a contributing factor to divorce in marriages. The model would start by defining the problem, divorce, among rich couples. It would collect data to test whether the assumptions are supported. If they are not supported, the model would go back to the first process of defining the problem and testing the hypotheses again (iterative process). Model 2: The model would hypothesize that there is no correlation between lower divorce rates among rich couples and financial stability. The other hypothesis would assume that finances do not play a significant role in promoting longevity of marriages among rich couples.Advertising Looking for research paper on social sciences? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More The model would define the problem and then collect qualitative data to test the hypotheses. The processes in the model would be iterative to assess whether the hypotheses would be supported by the data when the modelling processes are repeated. Model 3: It would hypothesize that there is no relationship between lower divorce rates and sexual satisfaction among rich couples. It would also hypothesize that sexual satisfaction is not a major factor that contributes to divorce. The model would aim to collect data on sexual satisfaction among rich couples and compare them to divorce rates. If the hypotheses are not supported by the data analyzed, then the iterative process of modelling would be repeated to assess whether the hypotheses are supported. Data The proposed study will collect qualitative data for the variables contained in the research question. The independent variables will be the factors that lead to divorce which are faithfulness, sexual satisfaction and financial stabili ty, while the dependent variable will be the rates of divorce. Sexual satisfaction could be a factor that makes couples stay together in marriage. In case spouses are not satisfied sexually, then they could opt to terminate their marriage. Financial problems bring stress in families leading to divorce. On the other hand, it could be that financial stability in rich couple marriages contributes to lower divorce rates. Unfaithfulness by a partner in a marriage can cause the other partner to initiate divorce. However, spouses could stay happily married if neither spouse is engaged in marital unfaithfulness acts. The qualitative data will be collected in the form of words and statements and coded so that it could be changed to quantitative data for statistical analysis. Questionnaires and personal interviews will be used to collect the data. Results and findings All the assumptions in the models are null hypotheses. For the hypotheses to be supported, the analyzed data should show that the independent variables are not significantly correlated with the dependent variable. If the data do not support the formulated null hypotheses, then they would support alternative hypotheses which are stated in the affirmative. Conclusion If the null hypotheses in the models will not be supported by the analyzed data, then it will be concluded that the independent variables contribute to lower rates of divorce among rich couples. On the other hand, if the null hypotheses are supported then it will be concluded that the causative factors (the independent variables) do not lead to lower divorce rates among rich couples. The two conclusions would be based on the research question formulated in the study. References Amato, P. R. (2010).
